Asbestos Lung Cancer
Those who have been exposed to asbestos and smoke cigarettes have a much greater chance of developing lung cancer. This chart shows the relative risk of dying from lung cancer and the difference in risk for those who have been exposed to asbestos and smoke and those who have only been exposed to asbestos. It is recommended for anyone who believes they have been exposed to asbestos to either avoid or stop smoking altogether. For more information on the combined effects of smoking and asbestos exposure, please visit our Cancer page.
