Gold Bond Asbestos Paper

Did you know that many products of the past used asbestos? Asbestos is a product that is made from glass and is comprised of tiny fibers that are very strong. Asbestos was inexpensive to use and made everything that was made with it last longer, it seemed, at the time, that asbestos was a manufacturer's dream product. However that dream only lasted until it was discovered that asbestos has long-term effects on health of the workers that worked with products containing asbestos, such as Gold Bond asbestos paper, or manufactured products using asbestos and that those health problems extended to their families as well.

Asbestos was used to make Gold Bond asbestos paper, which was a product that was used as a base for ceiling and floor tiles. It was commonly used to protect the baseboards of flooring and was glued in place using Gold Bond adhesive, which also contained asbestos.

Asbestos strands are very fine yet very strong - they do well under pressure, fortified Gold Bond asbestos paper for flooring as well as toughened many other products that otherwise would not have been as sturdy. Asbestos was also very cost efficient for producers of many different products - asbestos meant they could turn out products such as Gold Bond asbestos paper that were economical to produce yet more durable than the competing products that didn't use asbestos in their paper.

Today, we know that asbestos is very detrimental to health and can cause malignant cancer called mesothelioma as well as other asbestos-related diseases such as asbestosis.

Mesothelioma is a fatal form of cancer of the lining of the lungs, heart or abdomen and the only known cause for mesothelioma is asbestos exposure. There's no authoritative level of exposure that makes a person susceptible to mesothelioma, anyone with any level of exposure, from occasional to regular exposure, including workers who made Gold Bond asbestos paper can contract this dreadful disease. Many people who are diagnosed with mesothelioma do not survive very long after diagnosis - this cancer does not respond to common cancer treatments such as chemotherapy.

Asbestos fibers are easily inhaled as well as carried from place to place. Due to the fact that asbestos fibers are so thin, they easily cling to hair, skin, shoes and clothing, which means that workers who used Gold Bond asbestos paper or made Gold Bond asbestos paper could have carried asbestos fibers home to their families and created asbestos exposure for them as well.

Mesothelioma is considered to be a rare form of cancer because it only makes up three per cent of annual cancer-related deaths in the US each year. However, there are also 2,000 new cases of mesothelioma reported each year. With no treatment or cure in sight, mesothelioma is a dangerous cancer that can assail anyone who has had exposure to asbestos.

The warning signs of mesothelioma cancer do not begin to emerge for 15 to 40 years after exposure. This can make it quite complicated for lawyers to conclude the source of the exposure. However, if you have mesothelioma, or a member of your family does, and they worked in productions that used Gold Bond asbestos paper or worked to manufacture Gold Bond asbestos paper, you may have a case against the corporation for asbestos exposure.

Contact a competent mesothelioma attorney to discuss if you have a case that you can file with the courts. Funds that you win in a lawsuit won't replace or re-establish health or life, but it can help to cover the everyday expenditures of mesothelioma that you've acquired.
