Bio
Roman Perez-Soler, M.D., is well aware of the challenges presented by mesothelioma. As chairman of the Department of Oncology and Chief of the Division of Medical Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, the doctor personally treats a wide audience of men and women dealing with the disease.
Since completing his fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Hospital Cancer Center, Roman Perez-Soler has contributed to groundbreaking research that may offer the key to lung cancer treatments.
A professor of Medicine and Molecular Pharmacology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Perez-Soler is an international cancer expert known for his unrivaled research and his contributions to experimental cancer therapies.
His research efforts have involved a wide array of clinical studies to advance the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. Among these are: "Erlotinib in Treating Patients With Early-Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer," and "A Phase II Study Of Imtox-25 In Adults With Refractory/Relapsed Cd25 Positive Adult T Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma." In his search to uncover and identify effective treatment options, Perez-Soler has achieved remarkable success with such chemotherapy-related medications as liposome-entrapped cisplatin analog (L-NDDP), and erlotinib.
