Asbestos.com - Step by Step Link Tutorial
- Logging In - Log into your web editor using your username/password or by loading Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft Frontpage, etc.

- Finding the Right Page - Open the page that you want to add the link or linkbanner (probably your homepage or links page). Copy and paste the link/banner code featured below. Make sure that you paste the code exactly where you want it to go on your site. Example 1 | Example 2
Link Code
Banner Code - Troubleshooting - If you are having trouble pasting the link/banner, you might not be in the code view. In Adobe Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage there is a tab for the code view that you can select. Then it will be much easier to paste the code. If you are using another web editor you'll have to manually add in a link.
This is fairly easy depending on your web editor. To do this you'll have to type in the anchor text of the link, in this case being mesothelioma center. Then you can highlight the link and select the add hyperlink function. There also might be a add hyperlink button in the menu of your web editor. Once you do this it will ask for the web address of the link, which is www.asbestos.com. When you are finished you should see a normal underlined link in the area of the site that you want. Example 3 | Example 4 - Saving / Posting Changes - When you are finished you will save the changes. There are 2 ways you can do this. If you are using Adobe Dreamweaver you can click the "blue arrow pointing up" on the right side of the program. That will upload the changes to the site. If you are using a different web editor their might be a save changes button somewhere in the menu.
- Verification - When you are finished you can logout and close your editor. Then you'll need to check the site to make sure it worked. Open your browser and type in the address of your site and see if the changes have been made. If they don't appear, you might not have saved the changes when you added the link/banner. That would require you to log back in and make the changes again, this time remembering to save. Example 5
- Additional Troubleshooting - If this doesn't work you'll probably need to pass along this information to your webmaster. If you are the webmaster then you might want to give me your log in information so I can make the changes for you.
