Radiation oncologist Dr. Elizabeth Baldini is part of the multidisciplinary team treating pleural mesothelioma at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
She was board certified in 1993 after graduating from the Harvard Medical School, then doing her residency at the nearby Joint Center for Radiation Therapy. She completed her internship at Brigham and Women’s.
Baldini is involved in clinical research and the treatment of thoracic malignancies with a particular focus on mesothelioma. She has helped define new strategies for clinical management of soft tissue and bone sarcomas, stemming from her analysis of patterns of failure with various histologic subtypes.
She was the lead author on a paper involving former mesothelioma program director Dr. David Sugarbaker and current director Dr. Raphael Bueno. The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery published the study in 2015.
