Dr. Jun Zhang is an assistant professor of medicine who specializes in hematology and oncology at the Baylor College of Medicine, utilizing the latest laboratory discoveries to provide the most advanced, personalized care.
Her professional focus revolves around head and neck cancers and thoracic oncology, including pleural mesothelioma. She has intense interest in tumor biology and the work at nearby Integrative Functional Genomics Laboratory.
“The cancer world is changing drastically because of the genomic studies,” Jun said. “We are able to diagnose cancer at the molecular level and treat it on a molecular level, using our cutting edge knowledge to help our patients.”
She graduated in 1992 from Hunan Medical University in China before completing her internal medicine residencies at New Hanover Medical Center in North Carolina and Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in New York.
Jun came to Baylor in 2012 after a fellowship at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
