If my dad files a lawsuit, how much does he actually have to do?

If my dad decides to file a lawsuit, how involved does he actually have to be? He’s tired and can’t handle a long legal process.

The lawyers involved understand that people suffering from mesothelioma are dealing with the effects of a debilitating disease, so the process is designed to be as easy on the patient as possible. The great majority of the work will be handled by the lawyers, behind the scenes. Some aspects may require a patient to provide testimony, such as a deposition (a formal interview of the patient by the attorneys), but these can often be done over the computer rather than in-person. Additionally, a trial might require a patient to be present, but the overwhelming majority of cases settle before trial so that is something that is very rare. In any case, your lawyers will work to move at your pace, understanding that your health and comfort is your first priority.
