What Advice Would You Give a Mesothelioma Patient or Loved One?
Mesothelioma attorney Samuel Meirowitz offers advice for mesothelioma patients and their loved ones.
What I would tell someone that's unsure about filing a claim is, look, I know that most people don't view themselves as people that wanna file lawsuits and sue. A lot of people are very hesitant to do that. And I understand that, and and I get that. And I know a lot of people in my family feel the same way. What makes asbestos cases different is that mesothelioma is a man made disease that didn't need to exist. And in our legal system, the only way for a company to basically pay back What they took from someone is financial compensation. They can't unfortunately give somebody their health back. A company can't be put in jail for their conduct, that happened civilly many, many years ago. So the only way for them to basically say I'm sorry is financial compensation. And so when you do file a lawsuit, it's your way of letting them know, hey, you hurt me. You made me sick, and here's your opportunity to make it right.
