Amy Pelegrin, hospice care director at Asbestos.com, explains what mesothelioma patients and loved ones should know about the home health and hospice options available to them.

In general, anything with miso patients or their families, they should know what options are they for them. So they're able to make the right decisions. They can make these decisions sometimes before everything gets a little bit too challenging. That's why I'm big on the home health, the hospice, the palliative. Just they know what is there for these patients. So they have these options set aside. Actually, I had a patient reach out me recently who said, I know I'm gonna need hospice eventually. Can I already look into this? Can I already sign with facility? So when the time comes, my family doesn't have to worry about it. It was funny because I had been talking about that with, a colleague of mine. I'm, like, That would be interesting if they're able to actually start doing this ahead of time now, you know, making their own plants. They know this is where they're gonna end up. They know when this time the this is what they want. So sometimes the family doesn't have to make that decision, you know, the patient can make it themselves. But the more they know, the more knowledge they have about each facility, the home health, the hospice, you know, they know what's going to be coming or what's up and coming, I should say eventually.
