I was scared. I didn't know how it was gonna affect life, my family. I didn't know how I was gonna get through it. My primary care doctor sent me to an oncologist. I was uncomfortable with her, So I had decided I had to do some research. I went online, and I found this, you know, organization, Asbestos.com. And I had talked to Karen, and she was very encouraging, and, she helped me a lot. I reached out to, our outreach department, with Doctor Match and asked Missy if she could help me schedule an appointment with, the physician here locally to, get that consultation for her. We locate doctors in a certain vicinity closest to the patient, that have a specialty in mesothelioma. So normally I find out where the patient lives and then I connect them with the closest doctor. When speaking with a patient to figure out which doctor I should send them to, I look at their geographic location. I found out what type of specific cell type of mesothelioma they have. I actually listen to the patient to find out what their needs are. Are they completely against having surgery? Are they interested in having surgery? Do they, particularly wanna stick more to chemotherapy or immunotherapy? So I try to listen to what the patient wants and then develop a specialist for them to see based off of their specific needs. We've really built a lot of relationships with these doctors. We've come to know their processes. We know how to fast track their, appointment booking. We know how to fast track their registration process. We know how to fast track getting their medical records sent to the specialist, which is the most important. I ended up having, chemo, and I think it's called immunotherapy. Her tumor shrunk significantly. She responded amazingly to immunotherapy. To me, that was awesome. You know? Mesothelioma is something that's very it's unique. It's different. And it can be very, very, very aggressive. Mesothelioma needs to be treated differently. You need to have a special doctor, one who has some knowledge of mesothelioma at least. I feel a hundred percent better. I don't have the pain that I had. It's amazing.
