Mesothelioma attorney Samuel Meirowitz explains why most mesothelioma cases are not class-action lawsuits.

A lot of people get confused about the class action concept versus a mass torque concept. But by and large, the most important difference is that in a class action, you have multiple people that are represented by one case. That's called the class. The class is the class of people that RT together represented by one case. In mesothelioma litigation, it is not that at all. Every single person has their own individual case. Each case could be filed in a different state. It could be filed in federal court. It could be filed in state court. Each person has their own set of defendants that they're pursuing based upon their thick exposures over the course of their lifetime. And each person has, different damages depending upon, what types of injuries they have and how their treatment goes and how it has affected their life, a variety of different factors. But the cases are all handled individually, by a lawyer separately.
