Describe the Difference Between Palliative Care and Hospice Care for Mesothelioma Patients
Palative versus hospice. Palliative can be start during day one. So if you are undergoing treatment, palliative care can start right away. It's more of pain management. So it's something that there's doctors that will usually prescribe medications. This can guide them through their entire treatment. Hospice, they are both comfort cares. If you wanna say that, hospice is when there is no treatment available. And, yes, they are getting medications to keep them comfortable. They are being watched, but they're not undergoing treatment anymore. They're not allowed to, or they've chose not to. Palliative can be started at the beginning. I recommend it. I always recommend it to patients. There's no need. To suffer or put yourself through that if there is help out there and it will control the pain.
