Support and Resource Connection During Mesothelioma Diagnosis

Throughout my journey, I've had a lot of support from friends. But I have one childhood friend that I've known since I was twelve years old, my old neighbor, Jeanette. And when I told her, about the diagnosis. She kind of freaked out, but not really. She said, okay, Kim. I will be there for you. And she really meant it. She was there for me. And when I went to when I told her, I was seeking an an opinion, a medical opinion, a third opinion. She said, I will go with you. And she went with me And when I saw the medical provider who said, hey, Kim, you might consider seeking some compensation. I have a list of resources for you. And he handed me a slip of paper where he had written down some resources. I was still numb from hearing the diagnosis a few minutes earlier. Janette was sitting by my side, and she said, She took the paper, and she said, don't worry, Kim. I'll make the calls for you. And I thought, oh, that's one less thing on your plate. Okay? I'll take care of it. I'm like, okay. Okay. And she ended up calling every single resource she got me in contact with all of them. And one of the contacts was asbestos dot com. And the patient coordinator or contact person Missy was someone that she spoke directly to. They ended up sort of developing this connection, this relationship, And she said, Hey, look, I I need you to speak to my friend. I need you to offer her some resource some information. And that's how I met Missy through asbestos dot, you know, with connected with asbestos dot com. Janet's been with me every step of the way. As well as Missy in a way. She's been with me every step of the way as well.
