What Sets The Mesothelioma Center Apart
The Asbestos.com team shares what sets them apart from other organizations.
[MUSIC PLAYING] JOE LAHAV: The best advice I can give to a patient who's been diagnosed with mesothelioma is not to panic, and to understand you've got hope. Mesothelioma is not the death sentence it was 20 or 30 years ago. At the Mesothelioma Center, we provide the resources people need to get through this disease, whether it's emotional, medical, or otherwise. So if they come to us, they can understand not just that we're going to help them, but there's also hope. DANIELLE DIPIETRO: Our team is very unique. We all bring something different to the table. We have a nurse on staff, a doctor, an oncology navigator, a doctor match program. We have a veteran on our team. So really, all these patients come from different backgrounds and have different needs. And as an organization, we're able to provide that to each and every family. Our goal at The Mesothelioma Center is to identify what type of specialist is going to be right for that patient. And it's going to be different depending on where their cancer is, the stage of their cancer, where they are demographically. And there may be an insurance limitation. Connecting with The Mesothelioma Center is going to make the process so much faster. That's what we do. We connect with the physicians. We know where they are. We know what kind of insurance they take. We know how fast we can get a patient in to see them. So it's just like helping them get fast tracked to where they want to be. Obviously, you've got this big, dark cloud hanging over you. You've got a very serious disease. If you go to the right resources, you're going to get the right direction and understand what your options are. And there's lots of different things that you can do to make sure that you get through this, not just from a medical perspective, but from a financial and emotional perspective as well.
