What Was Your Experience Getting a Second Opinion?
Kim got a second opinion from a surgeon on the East Coast in July 2019, after being definitively diagnosed. Janette offered to accompany Kim to the appointment at Brigham Women's Hospital in Boston, where a tissue block was sent for tests and a CT scan was performed. The physician confirmed the diagnosis after running the tests.
I got another opinion from a surgeon. And I ended up on the East Coast, and it was July of twenty nineteen when I was definitively diagnosed. I was referred to a physician on the East Coast. I told Janette back because Janet, you know, and I are so close. And she said, hey, Kim. I'm gonna go with you. And we went to Boston. We ended up at Brigham, women's hospital. And I had, the tissue block sent from the medical provider, insurance. And he ran his own tests on that. He did cat scan there. And he that's when he said, Kim, this is what she have. I said to him, I go, do I do do I have this? And he said, yes, Kim. I'm telling you have it. It really hit me at that point.
