Dr. Jay Zatzkin graduated in 1974 from the University of Louisville, Kentucky.

He completed a medical internship, internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Zatzkin is board certified in oncology. In addition to his medical practice, he has held numerous academic positions, including clinical instructor of medicine at University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, and associate professor of medicine and clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

He has volunteered for the State of Washington Department of Health in the areas of cancer survivorship, palliative care and end-of-life care. Zatzkin has also lectured in London on advance directives.

In 2022, Zatzkin is involved in utilization review and legal consultations in oncology and hematology. Zatzkin provides editorial services to several consumer websites and is not responsible for final website content.
