After graduating with honors from the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine, Dr. Brian L. Samuels completed his internal medicine residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and he was board certified in internal medicine in 1984.

He continued his training in hematology and oncology with a fellowship at the University of Chicago, becoming board certified in medical oncology in 1987. Samuels was a member of the faculty of the University of Chicago from 1988 to 1994, and of the University of Illinois from 1995 to 2004.

Samuels is experienced in most aspects of medical oncology and hematology. He has authored over 60 publications and book chapters, and he’s on several editorial review boards.

He has been licensed as a physician in four states and has been in practice for almost 30 years. He is married and has three children.
