About Dr. Pandya

Dr. Abhishek Pandya treats lung cancer and pleural mesothelioma as a medical oncologist at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center. He completed his hematology-oncology fellowship at UT Health San Antonio, where he developed expertise in managing complex asbestos-related cancers.

Dr. Pandya serves as an assistant professor at UT Health Science Center San Antonio and contributes to research on personalized cancer treatment. He has published research on testing cancer drugs on patients’ own tumor samples to see which treatments are most likely to work before starting therapy. Board certified in internal medicine, he brings both clinical expertise and research experience to his practice.
