But getting a second opinion involves more than finding another name and making an appointment. The type of specialist you see, the information you bring and the questions you ask can all matter.
A second opinion also doesn’t always mean changing doctors or moving your mesothelioma treatment to another cancer center. You may want another specialist to review your diagnosis, discuss surgery or treatment options or help you understand why recommendations differ.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. ET, Amy Edel will host a free webinar with Patient Advocate Karen Selby, a registered nurse, and nurse navigator Pam DeLongchamp. They’ll share what patients and families should know when they’re considering a second opinion and looking for specialized care for mesothelioma.
