Whether you were recently diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma or are actively weighing treatment options, this conversation is designed to help you and your family make informed decisions.
Dr. Flores will answer pre-submitted questions from attendees at the end of the conversation. Registering is free and takes just a moment, and anyone who can’t attend live will get access to the recorded event afterward.
What to Expect From This Webinar
A pleural mesothelioma diagnosis raises hard questions fast, and finding clear answers from people who truly specialize in this disease can feel out of reach. This webinar changes that.
Surgery is one of the most significant mesothelioma treatment decisions a patient and their family can face. This conversation will give you direct access to a renowned mesothelioma surgeon and an experienced Patient Advocate who work with mesothelioma patients every day.
What You’ll Learn About Surgery for Pleural Mesothelioma
Patients and families considering surgery often come with a mix of hope, uncertainty and a long list of questions. This webinar addresses the topics that come up most, covering everything from how surgical candidacy is determined to what the latest surgical research means for patients weighing this option today.
- Affecting outcomes: Experience with mesothelioma specifically, not just thoracic surgery in general, plays a meaningful role in treatment results. Dr. Flores explains what to look for when evaluating surgical care.
- Common questions: An aggressive treatment like surgery for pleural mesothelioma raises a lot of questions. Dr. Flores addresses what patients and families ask him most.
- Deciding who may benefit: Surgical candidacy depends on several factors specific to each patient’s diagnosis and overall health. Understanding them can help patients have more productive conversations with their care team.
- Different surgical approaches: Not all mesothelioma surgeries are the same, and technique can affect outcomes. Dr. Flores breaks down the key differences and explains why they matter.
- Fitting into a broader treatment plan: Surgery rarely works in isolation for pleural mesothelioma patients. Dr. Flores explains how it connects with chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation as part of a multimodal approach.
- Recent research: The evidence around surgery for pleural mesothelioma continues to evolve. Dr. Flores shares what the latest findings mean for patients considering this option.
By the end of the conversation, patients and families will have a clearer picture of whether surgery may be worth exploring for them. That clarity can make the next conversation with a care team a lot more productive.
