“I don't know where else I could have gone to get that information, but I'm glad I chose Asbestos.com. . . ”
"We're very fortunate to know the Veterans Department and the whole team at Asbestos.com. We were in dire straits, and they gave us hope."
"I really want to thank you for everything and the information you gave us so quickly to help our neighbor. I must admit I was SO surprised when the information packet came in the mail the next day like you said it would! I hope and pray that anyone who has this terrible cancer gets a wonderful person at Asbestos.com to help them. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! God bless you."
I just wanted to thank you for everything you did to help my father while he was alive. Because of you, my mother is going to be financially set once the settlements come in. Without your guidance, my father would probably have not gotten as far as he did and would have passed not knowing how my mother would be taken care of. Fortunately, he was told about the settlements before his passing and he knew she was going to be OK financially. That was his biggest worry. Thank you for all you did on my father's behalf and may you continue to help other victims of asbestos! You, in my eyes, were my father's guardian angel!
"Mr. Lahav exhibited kindness to myself and my family regarding my mother's recent mesothelioma diagnosis. I could never have expected such a selfless act carried through by any organization, non-profit or otherwise.
Not only did he reach out to me strictly for my own benefit of knowledge of what we were facing, he was compassionate and straight forward. Thank you for caring. Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!!"

"It was God's hand at work when I hit the button on Asbestos.com. My sister is so excited that she is calling Dr. Kindler at the University of Chicago right now and making the appointment for my mom. God bless you and your organization."
Thank you so much for the bracelets, the book Lean on Me and talking with me for such a long time. It was such as blessing. I read the book in one afternoon and my heart was broken for her. It is so important for this horrible cancer to be eliminated. It is a cancer no one should ever have gotten.
Thank you for sending us mesothelioma wrist bands. We have distributed them to family and friends who wear them proudly. Bringing awareness to this horrible cancer is half the battle.

Just wanted you to know that I think God for placing you gals in my life when I did no [know] which way to go. I asked God to give me a clear message of what to do. Every way I turned last Tuesday and Wednesday the name of Dr. Sugarbaker was given to me. A friend told me that other than God putting a letter in my mailbox she did not think I could have been sent a better sign of which path I was to take.
Initially when it was first thought that he might have it (mesothelioma), I started going onto different websites. Asbestos.com was one of them. We never realized that there were any benefits, any compensation available through the VA - except for the information through Asbestos.com.
Asbestos.com helped us getting through the red tape with the VA, getting the necessary forms for us. We'd probably be still battling without his help; there's no doubt about that. We're very fortunate to know the Veterans Department and the whole team at Asbestos.com. We were in dire straits, and they gave us hope.

I had read some other websites, but this was the clearest. It was clear, concise, to the point. I was pleasantly surprised with the caring, the nurturing, how much time she (Karen) spent. They spent an hour on the phone one night.
It's like a dream that you would be there to help someone with my needs. Karen, you are truly a Patient Advocate! Keep the wonderful work you are doing. Your help is greatly appreciated.
You are truly Veterans helping Veterans to ease the process of assistance for receiving treatment, benefits and even legal options. In 2012 my dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma related to his service in the Navy, I visited Asbestos.com, researching the disease, and found information about VA disability eligibility. I contacted our local Veteran Service Organization (VSO) for ANY assistance or information about this disease and processes for a claim.
Our VSO was unfamiliar with mesothelioma and claims related to it. I called Asbestos.com and reached the Veterans Department and was immediately calmed by his knowledge of the disease, assistance for our Veterans claim and overall empathy for our situation. It was a lengthy process for dad's VA claim but his disability claim was finally approved! We can not thank Veterans Department enough for their assistance, and we praise all the advocates at Asbestos.com! Thank you again!
"There are not enough words to express my sincere appreciation for all your help. You contacted me after I ordered asbestos awareness bracelets in October 2009.
You were so kind to explain what my Dad's diagnosis was and what steps I could take to help my Mom receive DIC benefits from the VA as well as putting me in touch with an attorney.
My mom has received four settlement claims so far and we just heard back from the VA. Her claim has been granted. Just like you said, they gave her back pay to the date my dad passed away!
Dealing with the VA was not easy, but I appealed their decision and this time it was in mom's favor. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart."
"My dad passed away on July 12, 2010, of mesothelioma. He lived in Manville, New Jersey, and worked for Johns Manville for 30 years until the facility closed. I remember the day my sister called me to tell me that my dad had mesothelioma and that they had given him 6 months to live, and my world just fell apart.
When I composed myself, I went on the internet to learn everything I could about this illness and found Asbestos.com. That's when I . . . was able to (get) my many questions (answered). She had information on doctors we could talk to and was always there to help me through the rough times. She even sent me mesothelioma awareness wristbands for my whole family and my dad. On my niece's wedding day, all of the family wore those wristbands in memory of my dad. It's hard to explain, but those wristbands gave me a connection to my dad.
It has been 10 months since my dad passed away, and my mom and I still wear those bands. (Asbestos.com) still keeps in touch with me to see how we are doing. I highly recommend any family going through this hard time to visit Asbestos.com. They really can help and they care. Hopefully they will find a cure for this soon."
"Asbestos.com was a godsend to me and my family after I learned that my dad had Stage 4 mesothelioma from his 20+ years of working as a grinder in a steel factory. After discovering it could be mesothelioma, I went directly to the internet and ended up on Asbestos.com. I submitted a request for all the information I could get my hands on, as well as the mesothelioma awareness bracelets.
To my surprise, I had a voicemail message the following day, and when I called back, we talked for nearly an hour. I don't think (the patient advocate) realized how many tears streamed down my face during the conversation. I felt a sense of a caring in her voice on the other end of that call. She had a wealth of knowledge to share with me, explaining about mesothelioma specialists, treatment facilities and statistics. (She) quickly became my "email pen pal," and I sent her messages on a routine basis to update her on my dad's condition.
(She) was more than just a resource to me and my family. She was a friend (and) reached out to us in our moment of despair, when we felt that we had nowhere to turn for help. She and the rest of the staff at Asbestos.com even sent a sympathy card to me and my family after my dad passed away. I personally believe that, had it not been for (her) help, we might never have found out dad's true diagnosis of mesothelioma."

Right after I was diagnosed with the disease, and I found out that it had to do with asbestos, I immediately went to Asbestos.com. We needed the right information so that we could be prepared, so that we could understand what we would be going through, what we needed to do, how we needed to do it. Asbestos.com provided me with the best information that I could use to help me.
The biggest thing, I think, that helped me was the phone number. I called that phone number and talked to Karen. From then, Karen and I kind of connected. Karen always calls to check on me, to see how I'm coming, how I'm doing. She just has really been so helpful in everything concerning this disease. It's like she's become part of the family. I don't know where else I could have gone to get that information, but I'm glad I chose Asbestos.com and was able to talk to her.
