About Dr. Rishindra Reddy

Dr. Rishindra Reddy is the José Alvarez Research Professor in Thoracic Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He treats patients diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma and a range of thoracic cancers, bringing decades of surgical experience and active research to his practice.

His clinical work covers all aspects of general thoracic surgery, including minimally invasive techniques, robotic surgery and esophageal diseases. He also performs lung transplantation and lung volume surgery for patients with end-stage lung disease.

His research focuses on improving outcomes for people diagnosed with thoracic cancers. Reddy works with colleagues in thoracic oncology to evaluate novel molecular pathways in lung cancer and develops primary tumor models to bring new therapies from the lab to the clinic.
