About Kasie

After struggling with nebulous symptoms and misdiagnoses for more than a year, Kasie Coleman was officially diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma in 2010. Although the news changed her life, it did not dampen her spirit.

A wife and proud mother of two, Kasie was determined to triumph over her cancer. Even as she faced her disease’s disheartening prognosis, Kasie surrounded herself with positivity, knowing in her heart that she would be the exception.

Two HIPEC procedures and several cycles of chemotherapy later, Kasie’s cancer entered remission. The following year she made major changes to her life, leaving her job as a pharmaceutical sales representative to open a business, Sugar Belle Bakery, in her home town of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In June 2013, Kasie became a blogger for The Mesothelioma Center as Asbestos.com. By writing about her journey and firsthand experience with this rare and aggressive cancer, Kasie aims to raise awareness while sharing her story of hope with mesothelioma patients and their loved ones.
