About Fran

Fran Mannino has been an award-winning writer and editor for more than 20 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with a focus on broadcasting and journalism.

Prior to joining The Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com in 2020, Fran spent two decades in print journalism. She was managing editor of the West End Word newspaper in St. Louis for eight years. She was also a print and digital writer and editor for the newspaper group’s two sister papers in suburban St. Louis County for 18 years.

Prior to her long career in journalism, Fran worked in television production for Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc. She joined The Mesothelioma Center with the goal of educating people on the health risks of asbestos exposure.

Fran was essential to establishing The Mesothelioma Center’s Community Partnership program in 2022, which connects patients with exceptional educational and government resources nationwide. She is dedicated to sharing the stories of mesothelioma survivors, doctors and researchers to help raise awareness of the disease.
