About Vivek Podder, MBBS

Medical researcher Vivek Podder, MBBS, currently serves as a research fellow in gynecologic oncology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. He works on developing clinical trial protocols, retrospective studies and narrative reviews in endometrial and low-grade ovarian cancers. His research involves collaborative projects that study survival outcomes, treatment utilization and access disparities in cancer care.

Previously, he investigated new treatment approaches for glioblastoma, breast, renal and lung cancers at the Miami Cancer Institute of Baptist Health South Florida. This research has included targeted therapies and other types of immunotherapies. 

Podder’s professional contributions have also included medical writing, editing and education. He has contributed to board preparation resources for the USMLE, the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination that medical graduates must pass to become licensed physicians in the United States.

He has served as an editor for reputable medical journals, including BMC Health Services Research, European Journal of Medical Research and Frontiers in Public Health.

Podder earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS, from Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College & Hospital in Bangladesh. He is a member of the
American Society of Clinical Oncology and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.
