How Medical Outreach Helps Patients
Our Medical Outreach team helps patients apply for grants, Social Security Disability Insurance and VA benefits. They also answer health insurance questions and assist with insurance issues and appeals.
They help patients modify insurance plans for better coverage and assist them in finding supplemental insurance to cover the 20% of out-of-pocket expenses Medicare does not cover.
The team sends a customized information packet to patients. It contains a medical record organizer, mesothelioma books, a checklist of all the resources available to them and more.
These resources help patients understand their options for treatment and how to pay for it. Cancer treatment is expensive, and there are ways people diagnosed with mesothelioma can access compensation. Lawsuits, asbestos trust funds and VA benefits help families afford oncology care.
Finding the Right Legal Team to Help Patients
We’ve built relationships with multiple top mesothelioma law firms, whereas others work solely with one firm. The goal is to find the right firm for each patient based upon the patient’s diagnosis and asbestos exposure background.
Our team has more than 10 years of experience connecting patients with the best legal representation for their individual needs. We consider each person’s exposure history and the company responsible for the exposure. The state in which the patient resides or where the exposure occurred may also play a role.
Joining Our Doctor Match Program
Our outreach efforts helped us develop our Doctor Match program to benefit patients and mesothelioma specialists.
- The program connects patients to doctors and cancer centers specializing in mesothelioma treatment.
- Partnering with our Medical Outreach program drives more patients to mesothelioma centers and increases the exposure of mesothelioma experts.
Newly diagnosed mesothelioma patients are unsure of where to turn for specialized medical care. Our Doctor Match program takes an overwhelming amount of research off the patient’s hands.
- Connecting with doctors who can create the right treatment plan for your specific diagnosis.
- Help scheduling your medical appointments.
- Learning which clinical trials you might qualify for.
- Quick treatment from a specialist, which offers the best chance to improve your prognosis.
We provide resources and support services for all mesothelioma patients. Using our professional experience and deep understanding of the disease, we strive to overcome barriers to treatment and access to resources.
Some examples of how we work with health care providers and their patients include help with insurance appeals and connecting patients with transportation services, travel plans, financial assistance, patient assistance, copays and support groups.
