Join The Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com on Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. EST, for a live, online session where our experts will answer your questions about filing an asbestos claim.
Joe Lahav, lawyer and legal advisor for The Mesothelioma Center, will present the factors that can affect your asbestos or mesothelioma case value.
We’ll also review the different types of compensation, the legal process and what to expect when working with an asbestos lawyer.
Mesothelioma Case Value Discussion Topics
During this webinar, Lahav will answer many common legal questions, including:
- What is a mesothelioma attorney?
- How do I know if I’m eligible for asbestos compensation?
- When should I hire an attorney?
- How much does it cost to file a claim?
- How can I prove a history of asbestos exposure?
After being diagnosed with mesothelioma, many patients and families experience financial distress from the impact of lost wages, medical fees and out-of-pocket costs such as travel and medication.
Mesothelioma claims, also known as asbestos claims, can help families recover some of their lost income and help pay for the costs of beneficial mesothelioma treatment.
However, many patients and family members may not know their options or eligibility for filing an asbestos claim. For example, a wrongful death lawsuit can help recover funds after a loved one with mesothelioma has died.
In addition to information on the ways your asbestos case value can fluctuate, Lahav will provide tips for managing your medical needs alongside legal considerations.
Selecting a compatible asbestos lawyer is an essential part of the legal process. A poor legal relationship or miscommunication can lead to less compensation for your case. During the webinar, Lahav will highlight the vital steps in choosing a mesothelioma law firm.

What Happens After I File a Legal Claim?
While choosing an asbestos law firm may be the most crucial step in the legal process, many wonder what happens after that.
In this webinar, Lahav will examine a typical timeline for a mesothelioma lawsuit and how different factors impact asbestos compensation. Depending on the type of claim you file, such as personal injury or asbestos trust fund, the potential award and process can be very different.
Law firms can typically work around treatment schedules, and many virtual options are now available. Lahav will review the ways attorneys are safely working with mesothelioma patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Establishing evidence of your asbestos exposure is a critical part of the legal process. Lahav will explain how a legal investigator reviews your work history and uses nationwide databases to track down potential exposure sources.
At the end of the 30-minute presentation, we will detail the payout process for compensation payments and mesothelioma settlements, including tax considerations and attorney fees.
Afterward, attendees will have time to ask any questions they might have. We hope you’ll join us on Nov. 16 for this valuable information session on mesothelioma case values. The webinar will be available as a recording for those unable to attend.
