You absolutely have to work with a national trial firm that represents mesothelioma victims. It's very, very new nuanced. So you're going to need to know that the trial defendants that you would go after, the asbestos companies that are still viable.

You're going to need to know the bankrupt asbestos companies. You're going to have to know the history of how they went bankrupt. And then you're going to need to know all the asbestos containing products for the viable companies and the bankrupt defendants.

You're just not going to know that unless you practice in this realm. And then you've to be able and willing to take them all the way to verdict because the values are not going to be there in a trial setting unless you have a law firm that's going to take it to verdict and that has a history of winning trials and getting higher for the case. Like our firm has been doing this for twenty five, thirty years, we've been representing mesothelioma families.

And because we've won so many trials around the country, the minute we file a case and we get a deposition done and perhaps we go through a motion for summary judgment, every viable defendant in that case is going to think long and hard about going through to verdict. Ninety nine percent of them are going to settle the case before you get anywhere near picking a jury. And then sometimes some of them will wait till you pick a jury and then they'll settle.

But the other ones, yeah, maybe they'll take a risk. And if you take a risk, they have to think long and hard about it if they're going to get started a law firm.

You have settlements both for the viable asbestos company, so that's in the trial setting. And so what will happen is, you know, you'll file a case and then once you start moving through the case, defendants will call and say, “Look, I'd like to settle this case. I mean, I have the threat of going to trial with your law firm. I don't want to go to trial with your law firm. It's expensive, and we likely will lose.” And so they will settle the case.

You also have settlements in the bankruptcy with the asbestos trust. And so those settlements are kind of set in stone, meaning you will file an affidavit I worked with or around your product in a certain time, and you will get a settlement from that.

You can also get settlements from them where it's a pre-approved site that you worked in, and they'll send you a settlement for that. I mean, we have to make application for it. With regard to a verdict, that's in the trial setting. You're going to take the case from start to finish, and there's going to be some defendants out there, not very many, but sometimes the defendant will take a chance. They'll roll the dice and claim that they didn't expose your client to asbestos-containing products.

And so that's the threat we have is that the leverage is that we're going to go and take them all the way to a trial, whether it's a jury or judge, generally a jury, and get a verdict. So the difference is trial setting all the way to verdict and having your peers judge whether or not and how much you should receive for getting sick from mesothelioma because these people put profits over people.
