About Dana
Dana Nolan, MS, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor who moderates the monthly support group at Asbestos.com. She has experience with inpatient and outpatient counseling, and clinical research in the United States and Australia. She offers individual and family counseling at Healthy Living Counseling in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Dana speaks regularly at regional and national conferences, as well as community organizations and professional roundtables. She specializes in helping patients cope with cancer, heart disease and other serious illnesses.
In our monthly online support group, Dana strives to help mesothelioma patients overcome the physical and emotional challenges of the disease and work toward a happier and healthier life. Each session begins with a brief educational presentation on coping with mesothelioma before transitioning to an open discussion with patients and caregivers.
Dana earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University. She spends her free time watching her children’s sports and music activities, or biking, jogging or swimming.
