About Michelle
Joining the team in February 2008 as a writer and editor, Michelle Whitmer has served as a writer at The Mesothelioma Center for more than 12 years.
Her articles on asbestos, mesothelioma and integrative medicine are published in newspapers and magazines across the country. The New York Times quoted her on the dangers of asbestos exposure. She studied English and science at Rollins College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies.
Michelle holds a certificate in the OSHA Asbestos Standard for the Construction Industry Training. She is a member of the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine, the National Association of Science Writers and the American Medical Writers Association. She is currently pursuing a medical writer certification and has been a certified yoga instructor since 2010.
