Raphael Bueno, M.D., is the chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. While maintaining an interest in lung cancer and esophageal cancer, much of his most recent research has focused on treating mesothelioma.

Some of his latest studies focused on the prevention and management of complications following extrapleural pneumonectomies, a common surgical procedure. He has also studied which factors are associated with long-term survival following this surgery.
