Get to Know Dr. Jack A. Elias
Dr. Jack Elias was elected president of the Association of American Physicians, one of the most esteemed and selective medical societies.
Through his clinical research, Elias is heralded as a leading authority on lung diseases and lung injuries, including the topic of scarring that is often caused by the inhalation of asbestos fibers, which can lead to mesothelioma.

Jack’s research in pulmonary medicine has really led the field and has spanned all the way from very basic science to clinical research, where his basic science is leading to new treatments for pulmonary disease. To be president of the AAP is, needless to say, a very great honor.
